Burbage Police Weekly Update. Motorbikes, Police Response And What's In Your Car? |
||
Hello Resident,
We hope you are well. Here is an update regarding crime and Police activity in Burbage this week.
Reported Crime and Appeals
Patrols, Police Activity and local engagement
We have been dealing with reports of vehicle related issues, of which several of these complaints are being caused by local businesses. Whilst Police are not always the lead agency for some of these reports, we will link in with HBBC to try and find solutions.
Other than dealing with the below reports, we are also supporting in ongoing investigations and addressing local concerns raised to local officers.
Since our last update, we have received 22 calls to Police. 4 of these calls were emergency and 8 were priority calls. The bulk of the reports this week relate to transport related issues, domestic and missing persons.
Please pop along to a local event to show some support if you are interested. The David Lock Horsepool Foundation Open Day. Therapy Farm supporting autistic children and their families. Saturday 23/08/2025, 10:00-15:00. Horsepool Farm, Lychgate Lane Burbage.
Crime prevention and issues to be aware of
Please ensure that motorbikes and mopeds are kept secure and out of sight. It appears they are being targeted again. Please use shed/garage alarms and the thickest/strongest chains that can be fixed to the floor.
Please do not leave items such as wallets, purses, bags or work-related items in vehicles. Bank cards will often get used and work items may be disregarded, but that obviously leaves added stress for the victim due to data protection issues, if personal information has been taken. Ensure laptops are password protected. This link can advise you around securing your devices Using passwords to protect your devices and data
Thank you and take care.
